Yamaha Vixion Review
The speed bike manufacturer Yamaha has kept the bikes release plan covered pertaining to the country being launched. The Yamaha motors had confirmed their launch of Yamaha R15 V3 (Version 3) in India, which was even recently unveiled in Indonesia. Meanwhile, as the Yamaha M-Slaz 150cc is expected to be launched as a naked street fighter bike, another product from Yamaha in 150cc class has become the auto news for the customers in India thinking about the production and release of Yamaha Vixion. The Honda CB 150R Streetfire is the best rival to the Vixion with respect to the looks and engine specification found hand to hand.
Looks and design of Yamaha Vixion
Vixion basically comes with a dual toned body, separating the front and the rear with different combination of shades. The headlamp of the Yamaha Vixion remembers the Yamaha FZ 16 V2.0 with a small visor mounted.
The fuel tank looks large enough and shaped well with air scoops attached on either side, giving the structure to move forward, forcefully.
The Yamaha Vixion now has a security key shutter system mounted on to the fuel tank than finding regularly attached to the digital meter frames.
The uniform shades of front mat and fuel tank gives a decent package with the deltoid diamond type pressed frame background. The body shrouds are designed to draw the outward air flow inside towards the radiator to manage the engine temperature.
The engine colour of the Vixion is maintained in golden shade, while the matte black cylindrical exhaust with an aluminium treat at the edge.
The rear tail lamp is pointed high with the edge black background underneath as per the trendy pattern.
The rear flap gets a danger reflector and a trident sharp triple point ending. The Vixion Overall has a typical Yamaha bikes characteristic with the line of dimension raised to give the rides a racing feel.
Dimension of Vixion
The Vixion has an overall length of 1925 mm, Width 705 mm, Height 1030 mm with a wheelbase of 1300 mm.
The ground clearance of the motorcycle measures about 165 mm, and Seat height of 790 mm. The kerb weight of the Vixion is around 129 kg, which is good in a way for the power weight ration.
The 149.8 cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled 4 stroke engine of the Yamaha Vixion produces about 16.59 Bhp @ 8,500 rpm of maximum power and 14.5 NM @ 7,500 rpm of peak torque, with the incorporation of 5-speed gear box.
The power and torque efficiency of Vixion are almost equivalent compared to the Yamaha M-Slaz power outputs.
The incoming and exhaust gases of the engine are managed by Single OverHead Cam (SOHC) with a 4-valve and fuel injection system
Digital consoles of Vixion
The Yamaha Vixion 150cc electrical units are powered by YTZ4V/ GTZ4V maintenance free battery of 12V with 3 Ah capacity.
The digital console of the bike carries the entire necessary ride and speed calculators like Speedometer, Trip meter, Odometer and Clock. But, the Fuel gauge and Tachometer remains as analogue type.
The side extension of the meter contains the support for neutral, high beam and side indicators
Forks, Brakes and Tyres
The Deltabox frame of the Vixion with the Telescopic suspension at the front and rear swing arm Monocross link suspension feels the motorcycle weightless.
The tyres of Vixion grips on the tar by measuring 90 / 80 17M/ C 46P in the front and 120 / 70 17M/ C 58P on rear. Both the wheels are supported by non ABS single hydraulic disk brake in the front and rear, respectively.
