Yamaha MT 10
Yamaha MT 10 is a ruthless street fighter from the Yamaha and one of the most notorious naked sport motorcycles around the world. The MT 10 was first spotted in the year 2015 of the EICMA show in Milan, Italy and drew everybody crazy about the design. The Yamaha MT 10 is the bigger brother of the MT family motorcycles and flaunts its special strategy.
MT 10 Outlook and design
The Yamaha MT 10’s most striking feature is the twin projector headlight with the grand decoration of robot eye resemblance and projects like a beak. The Aluminum Deltabox frame keeps the fuel tank and robust engine fused, giving a healthy look to the MT 10.
The split visor maintains the terror design, but the rear-view side mirrors looks cheap and common.
The air shrouds of the Yamaha MT 10 are the blue print design for the rest of the MT motorcycle family members. The attachment vicinity to the frame draws more air on the MT 10’s crossplane engine and aid in lowering the engine temperature.
The seat set up on the Yamaha MT 10 is a typical pair for the street fighter, which boosts the aggressive design. The specially designed, side mount exhaust of the Yamaha MT 10 adds more spice to the creature.
From the tip to tail, the Yamaha MT 10 is sharp and spiky, and can be regarded as one of the best in class street fighter of the current scenario.
Engine and gearbox
The 998 cc, Liquid cooled, 4 stroke, DOHC, 16 valve engine of Yamaha MT 10 is borrowed from the lightning Yamaha YZF R1 model. The YZF R1 inspired engine can produce 158 BHP @ 11,500 RPM of maximum power and 111 NM @ 9000 RPM of peak Torque.
The engine is connected to a 6 speed gear box for the transmission duties and supported by the slipper clutch facility.
Yamaha claims that the crankshaft fixed at a different degree of pattern, the engine can deliver a smooth linear torque range and can sense even minute changes in the throttle.
Yamaha MT 10 top speed and mileage
The performance of the MT 10 is matched along the Yamaha YZF R1, since the engine of R1 is tuned to get the best performance on the street side. The Yamaha MT 10 top speed is measured to be 245 Kmph which is marginally higher compared to the “Sugomi design” Kawasaki Z1000.
On the other hand, the Yamaha MT 10’s mileage is slightly lesser compared to the z1000, ranging from 10-12 kmpl.
The digital console of the Yamaha MT 10 is once again inspired from the racing full faired YZF R1. The completely digitalized frame has room for Speedometer, tachometer, odometer, trip meter and other indications like ABS action, traction control and model selection.
The Yamaha MT 10 uses a powerful 43 mm Upside down forks at the front and the rear side suspension duty is managed by the Swingarm mono shock (suspension rods).
The Double disc of Ø 320 mm in the front and Single Ø 220 mm disc at the rear acts as the prominent braking department of the MT 10. The braking ability is sharp and ABS support gives additional safety.
The front tyre of the Yamaha MT 10 measures about 120/70 ZR17 M / C (58W) and the rear side comes with a size of 190/55 ZR17 M / C (75W). The alloy wheels featuring in the MT 10 is not a special one and has five spokes.
