Outlook and Design

The 75° V-twin engine of the 1290 Super Duke R looks full-bodied and has an attractive crank case cover. The rustproof stainless steel Exhaust of the 2017 Duke R is stubby and looks good, but an underbelly or under seat exhaust may have added more spice to the Overall stance.

Single Sided Swingarm

Engine and gearbox
The 1301 cc, 2 cylinder, LC8 V 75°, liquid cooled, 4 stroke engine of the KTM Super Duke R is supported by the Hydraulically actuated PASC slipper clutch and 3 oil pumps forced lubrication. The engine can produce 177 HP of maximum power and 141 NM of peak Torque.
The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox and powered by the quick shifter for the flicking and smooth gear shifts.
KTM Super Duke Top Speed
The orange devil is upgraded in the year 2017 pushing the power limit from 170 HP to 177 HP offering an insanely riding top speed of 285 Kmph. The sharp edges of the bike keep moving rapidly.
The instrument cluster of the Super Duke R is almost clever like a modern smart phone and are loaded with huge features. The advance TFT display appears like a flat screen and has room for
basics like digital speedometer, fuel gauge, dual trip meters, analogue tachometer, low fuel, oil and battery warning indicators and an engine temperature indicator.
The super bike uses a WP (white performance) Upside down suspension of Ø 48 mm in the front and the rear side is managed by the WP monoshock.
The gas central shock absorber of the Duke 1290 bags a wide range of optional settings. KTM claims that both the compression and rebound damping can be adjusted separately for high or low speed compressions.
Fear not about the KTM 1290 super Duke R top speed, since the most powerful braking system available in the machine come into action for the rider.
The 320 mm twin disc brakes with the two radially mounted Brembo M50 Monobloc four piston fixed calipers in the front bring down the Big Duke to the stop.
The rear side is supported by the 240 mm diameter single disc with two piston Brembo caliper. The ABS unit of the motorcycle is impressive.
The company says that the tyres used in the KTM Super Duke are of premium quality having the top-notch property of new tyre grip pattern and strengthened materials.
The Metzeler M7RR tyres working on this beast is fitted on to the light weight alloy wheels for the better riding and handling abilities.
KTM Super Duke Price in India
The bike owns a significant range of advanced features to stay in the best street fighter zone. The KTM 1290 super duke r price can be slightly on the heavier side of 14 – 15 lakhs, but offers rider’s satisfaction. However, people are happy with the other KTM bikes like Duke 200 and 390, which are way cheaper with the special features.
