KTM RC 390 Review

Outlook and design
The RC 390 features a tremendous style and quality overall and never let the sensation down both in features and the performance. The body panels of the RC 390 are made with a premium quality material, maintaining a rich and sporty feel from front to the tail end.
The body graphics are pretty decent, yet looks appealing. No matter whether its day or dark, the dual headlamp is always active, once the RC 390 engine is ignited.
The relocated foot pegs offer a fantastic racing saddle position and hikes the aerodynamic sense of the KTM RC 390. The aluminium triple clamps are an ornament on the 390 RC with the ultimate racing ride clip-on handle bar.
The rear view mirrors give place for the blinkers and the pillion seat is updated to give more comfort without losing the racing instinct. A thin slice of rear tail lamp with the pillion grab zone is short and sweet.
Powder coated trellis frame
The volcano orange trellis frame of the RC 390 is re-engineered to redefine the stability and to add ultimate rigidity. The powder-coated, steel tubular frame helps the RC stay lighter on its foot, and the increased steering angle keeps the bike to support with an improved wheelbase and ground clearance.
Putting together, the updated frame on the RC 390 retains its riding quality even better and easier.
KTM RC 390 Swingarm
The light swingarm of the sporty 390 RC is also supported to match the duty of the chassis. The connection of the rear shock absorber is just awesome in the smooth ride and finds exceptional grip on the road.
The high quality white performance (WP) suspension with a front upside-down fork (WP 43mm) and rear WP monoshocks set-up, maintain the RC 390’s performance, evenly providing smooth stiffness and great control in rides.
KTM RC 390 Engine and transmission
The engine of the RC 390 is connected to the racing mind of the rider that signal through the hands holding the bars of the machine. The 390 RC just excels and never hesitates to perform as per the order with its power blast 373.2cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled 4-stoke, wet sump chamber system.
The same engine is shared between the RC and Duke 390 with the production of maximum power of 43 BHP @ 9500 rpm and maximum torque of 35 Nm @ 7250 rpm. The DOHC (double OverHead camshaft) associated 4 valves handle the combustive incoming and out gases together, and are reliable and friction loss due to the hard carbon coating on the cam levers.
The transmission part is done by the manual 6-speed gearbox that weighs overall just 36 Kg on the other side contributing to the power to weight ratio.
Under belly silencer
The three chambered under belly exhaust is absolutely fit for the RC 390 with a package of awesome look and least pollution emission, yet on the other hand helps the center of gravity of the bike.
RC 390’s Instrument consoles
The digital console of the RC 390 is a perfect design and the display frame has room for speedometer, trip-meter, tachometer, odometer, clock, fuel gauge and racing lap timing. In addition to these features, the RC 390 also has a provision for engine temperature bar graph, average speed and mileage indicator, side stand indicator, Gear Shift Light, low oil and low battery indicators.
The fuel injection of the RC 390 is an electronic intelligence, which is an additional strength for the RC. The EFI system also provides optimized fuel supply for the better delivery of power when required and increases the fuel economy.
The fuel tank of the RC 390 holds 10 litres at a stretch and provides a great position to keep the rider comfortable and fair enough for a long travel.
Brakes and wheels
The RC 390 features a radially-bolted, four-piston caliper, 300 mm Disc in the front and 230 mm Disc brake with one pot brake caliper at the rear. The ABS powered system is a perfect combination for the KTM RC 390 made by the Bosch and Brembo combination.
The alloy wheels of 17 inches are good to give a fair ground clearance (178 mm) with 110/70 R17 and 150/60 R17 MRF tires in the front and rear, correspondingly. The tires are smooth enough to find great grip and increased handling capability of both wet and dry conditions.
