Honda CBR250r Review
Honda CBR250R is one of the most noticed and considered motorcycles in the 250cc segment and in the CBR series. When Honda CBR250R was first launched, the outlook and the dual shade body looked bland and usual, but not now.
Honda Has played with the colors on the CBR250r this time, in addition to the offering of the special edition Repsol. Thereafter, the most trusted 250cc racing motorcycle gained the perfect finish and upholds its customer satisfaction both in terms of style and performance.
The best rival for the Yamaha R15 is the CBR 150R and the chapter continues even in the 250cc segment by the CBR250r against the Yamaha R25. But, there are other rivals for the CBR250r like Pulsar RS200, Hero HX250R, KTM RC200, Suzuki GSX 250R and Kawasaki Ninja 250 SL.
Outlook and design
The foremost advantage and attraction of the Honda CBR250r is the lager dimension body, that give a high capacity racing bike appearance. The design of the front fairing is from the typical CBR family motorcycles. However, the front fairing of the Honda CBR250r can look even aggressive if the fairing is carved for a sporty look like the Yamaha R25.
But, Honda will conserve the ideal CBR design from its 150cc to the 1000cc class of motorcycles.
The transparent visor can look better if it gets a pinch of black shade. The graphics on the Honda CBR250r is fresh and modern. In addition, the appreciable point on the CBR250r is the colors offered. Especially the Sporty Red looks very vibrant. The new age colors surely put an end to the bland and tasteless olden days maroon and silver or black and silver combination.
The carbon black backgrounds, alloy wheels and the side mount exhaust looks clean and neat. The front eagle like head lamp reminiscent the Honda VFR models, while the rear tail light is more compact and suits well the tail.
Honda should consider replacing the turn indicators and the side mirrors for the CBR250r, since the CBR250r is a premium segment racing bike.
Overall, the Honda CBR250r gets a complete change over externally, especially on the Paint and graphics jobs, but continues with the same reputation.
Engine and gearbox
The 249.6 cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled, 4 stroke engine of the Honda CBR250r can produce a maximum power of 26.15 BHP @ 8,500 rpm and 22.9 Nm @ 7,000 rpm of peak torque. The Double overhead camshaft (DOHC), 4 valve system manages the exchangeable gases and mated to a Six speed gearbox.
The performance and smoothness of the engine are the Honda’s engineering and technology.
Honda CBR250r Top speed and Mileage
The DOHC engine of the Honda CBR250r offers a cool ride even at the higher levels of RPM. The CBR can reach a top speed of 145 Kmph which is slightly lesser than the R25. However, the CBR250r can reach even higher speeds if the external conditions are favourable.
The CBR250r can reach 0-60 Kmph in 3.6 Secs and 0-100 in 8.5 Secs. The mileage part of the CBR 250R is decent and stable. Honda claims that the PGMFi technology incorporation improves the mileage and performance of the Honda CBR250r running for 28-37 Kmpl.
Honda CBR250r dimension
The CBR250r looks hefty and large and the line is worked clearly by the well proportionate dimension. The Motorcycle measures 2032 mm in length, 720 mm in width, and a height of 1127 with a ground clearance of 145 mm. The seat height is 780 mm, which is good for the medium to well-built riders.
The wheelbase of 1367 mm is slightly lesser than the 1380 mm wheelbase of the Yamaha R25 which can have marginal improved handling.
Instrument console
The Honda CBR250r features an analog Tachometer with the combination of digital console frame. The large and round shaped tachometer has the small frame of digital piece underneath, consist of speedometer, dual trip meter, fuel gauge, and odometer. The silver colour surrounding and the blue light digital console is attractive.
Brakes
The Honda CBR250r ’s braking department is one of the major positive points to be considered during the purchase. The single disk of 296 mm in the front and 220 mm single disk of the rear pushes the CBR to the safety zone whenever necessary.
The C-ABS is served as an option with additional charges.
Suspensions
The suspension part of the CBR250r is smooth and soft as it used to be since then the bike is taken for touring and a fast track performance. Honda offers a conventional telescopic fork on the front and the advanced adjustable single shock mounted on pro-link at the rear. The fun ride is majorly contributed by the suspensions of the CBR250r.
Tires
The grip and handling point are managed by the tubeless tires of 110/70-17M/ C 54S in the front and 140/70-17M/ C 66S at the rear. The same size of the tires is even employed in the rival R25.
The large tires of the Honda CBR250r wrap the rider with safety and confidence in the knee rest and attacking the corners.
