Honda Africa Twin launched
Honda has recently launched its 1000 cc capacity adventure motorcycle in India named Africa Twin. The Honda Africa Twin price in India is revealed and gets a price tag of INR 12.9 Lakh rupees. The only variant of the motorcycle available is the DCT model and the motorcycle is ready for bookings.
The Honda Africa Twin will be initially made available in 22 major cities and 22 outlets for sales. Dakar Rally Red, Dakar Rally Blue and Metallic are the three different colors made available for the Honda Africa twin.
Though, there are many adventure motorcycles available, the best rival for the Honda Africa Twin will be the Yamaha T7 concept. The Yamaha T7 in terms of 700cc and modern features is expected to price very competitive against the Africa twin India. However, the T7 is currently a concept adventure bike expected to launch soon by 2018.
The price of the Honda Africa twin is made cheaper to an extend by producing the bike in the Home country.
The CRF450 Rally genes are applied to the Africa Twin and are made into an adventure motorcycle. The Africa Twin is prepared to be a slim bike, helping the rider to change direction precisely and rapidly. Handling the bike will be easy and be the best fun ride for the desert rally.
Honda Africa Twin Instrument cluster
The digital console of the Africa twin is an advanced unit and is split into units for the better utilization. The separate units of the digital console provide information about the gear position, trip meter, odometer, HSTC, RPM, fuel, D-S Driving mode selection and a lot more.
Powering the Honda Africa Twin is the 998 cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin-cylinder engine capable of producing 93 BHP of maximum power and 98 NM of peak torque. The 270-degree angled, single cam, 4-valve setup is connected to a six-speed gearbox and the transmission is powered by the chain drive.
The Honda Africa Twin top speed is derived from the powerful 270-degree engine, allowing the bike to reach a top speed of 220 Kmph approximately.
The front fairing of the Africa twin is square and placed well supported by the long travel front suspension for smoother riding. The dual headlight and the rear tail are garnished by the LED lights. The knuckle guards with the blinker associated goes well with the overall design of the motorcycle.
The side mount raised exhaust, the rear luggage grill and the spoke wheel with the rally tires are the necessary features of the Africa twin.
Honda also offers necessary accessories for the Africa twin. Adventure ride top box, smoked and adjustable wind screens, DCT foot shifter and heated grips are some of them.
