Engine specs

The Air or liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, flat boxer twin, DOHC, EU-4 emission standard engine can produce a maximum power of 125 HP at 7,750 RPM and a peak torque of 125 NM at 6,500 RPM.

The engine is mated to a Constant mesh 6-speed gearbox and the rear wheel is powered by the shaft drive.

The engine of R1200GS Rallye is more engaging in off road riding compare to the exclusive BMW R1200GS variant, which is suitable for road and touring.

Suspension

The BMW Motorrad patented Telelever, long suspension, stanchion diameter 37 mm in the front and the rear spring pre-load hydraulically handwheel adjustable with rebound damping adjustable keeps the off-road experience easy and fun riding.

Whereas, the suspensions that are powering the R1200GS Rallye’s is the sports suspensions. The forks are extremely well on the off roads and adjust the damping accordingly. The seat height of 20 mm is adjustable in the R1200GS Rallye suspensions.

BMW’s Dynamic ESA

The futuristic ESA feature of the BMW R1200GS monitors the pre-load and the damping force received from the off-road and bumps. The riding comfort is made free and easy accordingly by the sensors associated with the auto adjusting suspension.

Riding modes

In addition to the standard Rain and Road mode, the pro dynamic and Enduro modes are included. Switching to any of the modes offered, based on the path selected by the rider, this adventure motorcycle reacts immediately and coincides with the rider’s need.

The dynamic traction control (DTC) self-optimizes to the mode selected, and maintains different range of traction control.

Hill Start Control

As the Adventure is what we expect from the BMW R1200GS, the Hill start control is a very useful feature that retains the bike on the slopes of the mountain without rolling back.

Brakes

The stopping power of the BMW R1200GS is the 305 mm diameter Dual disc with floating brake, 4-piston radial calipers in the front, while the rear wheel has the Single disc brake, 276 mm, dual-piston floating caliper. A Disengage able, BMW Motorrad Integral ABS is available.

The standard variant of the R1200GS is priced around INR 16 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom) and the other variants like Dynamic+ and Pro is priced around INR 19 lakhs and 19.5 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom), respectively.
